SION reports that the Kansas City Tornadoes have just agreed with starting pitcher Tom McGinnity on a contract extension.
The total value is $25,350,000 for 3 years, which equals $8,450,000 per season.
To this point in the season McGinnity has 20 wins and 6 losses and a 1.60 ERA. |
 | Thursday, October 2nd, 2053: Los Angeles Slugger Wins Triple Crown
Juan Carlos Ramírez is sitting on top of the world tonight. He got himself a Triple Crown this year -- only the 1st player in TTBL history to ever accomplish this feat.
The Los Angeles Gunslingers right fielder outpaced the rest of the United League offensively this year. Ramírez, age 24, hit .347, collected 42 home runs and chipped in 126 RBIs for the Gunslingers. He led in all three categories to capture the Triple Crown, one of the rarer feats in baseball.
"It's all about hard work," noted one club official, "Juan Carlos arrives early, takes extra BP and really make a science of hitting. He religiously studies the pitchers. Keeps a journal on all of 'em. He's very thorough." |
