 | Sunday, March 29th, 2054: Portland Swaps Hernández to Chicago for Von Heezik The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Portland Alpines sent 34-year old second baseman Rafael Hernández to the Chicago Phoenix for 22-year old minor league starting pitcher Dustin Von Heezik and 22-year old minor league first baseman Juan Rivas. Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal. A check of his lifetime stats shows Hernández has a career .290 average with 638 hits, 148 doubles, 20 triples, 42 home runs and 246 RBIs. To date he has scored 334 runs, walked 295 times and stolen 34 bases. |
