 | Sunday, April 12th, 2054: Lee on Fire, 5-6 Against Washington Ralph Lee told the press after his 5-hit day, "Every batter wants to have a quality at-bat every time he steps up to the plate. He wants to hit the ball hard." Well, that's just what Lee of the Boston Dockers did against the Washington Eagles. He went to the plate 6 times and 5 times he delivered base hits, much to the chagrin of the Eagles, who suffered a 12-4 defeat. "Not much that I can say," offered the losing manager, "he just hammered the heck out of us." R. Lee singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 7th, singled in the 9th and hit a two-run double in the 9th. This year Lee is batting .340 with 2 home runs and 9 RBIs. |
