| Breaking News |  | Thursday, June 4th, 2054: Luis Sierra Named SL2's Best Batter
Luis Sierra of Toledo College was a smashing success this year, winning the Outstanding Hitter Award in the Sub League 2.
He rattled fences and pitchers as he banged out a .403 average, logging 79 hits, 5 home runs, 31 RBIs and scoring 30 runs.
This weekend Sierra will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.

 | Thursday, June 4th, 2054: 2054 Best Batter Picked
The Eastern League Outstanding Hitter Award has been chosen for 2054 and the trophy was presented to the talented and hot-hitting Carlton Vance.
In his fine season, he compiled a .406 batting average with 71 hits, 10 doubles, no triples and 2 home runs, along with 15 RBIs and 41 runs scored.
For being named the Northeastern Division's top batter, Vance will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Wednesday, June 3rd, 2054: SL2 Best Mound Performer Named
This season's Sub League 2 Outstanding Pitcher Award trophy went to José Pérez, the ace of the Greensboro College pitching staff.
He dominated all season, finishing up with 7 wins and 4 losses and a 2.44 ERA. In 12 starts he worked a total of 81 innings, striking out 56 while walking 25. Other clubs only managed to hit .000 against him.
José Pérez will be honored this weekend at the SION Baseball Writers Association annual awards banquet.
