 | Tuesday, May 26th, 2054: SWHSL's Premier Hitter, Salinas of Concordia HS Mauro Salinas, the gifted Concordia HS left fielder, really got the attention of the Southwest HS League pitchers this past season. He battered them for 77 hits in 187 at-bats, 5 doubles, no triples, 6 home runs, 35 RBIs and scored 42 times.
That kind of hitting earned him the Southwest HS League Outstanding Hitter Award for 2054.
Salinas will get his trophy at the SBWA awards banquet this weekend. |  | Tuesday, May 26th, 2054: Super Season, Rúbio Wins Outstanding Hitter Award 2054 was a very good year for Jefferson HS Jaguars right fielder Enrique Rúbio, this year's Northwest HS League Outstanding Hitter Award recipient.
Rúbio had a marvelous season, hitting .409 with a .487 on-base percentage. He totaled 56 hits, 14 doubles, 2 triples, 7 home runs, 38 RBIs and scored 32 runs.
For being named the NWHSL's top batter, he will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend. |  | Monday, May 25th, 2054: SWHSL Announces Outstanding Pitcher Award Cisco Árias of the Concordia HS Panthers impressed SION writers as one of the elite pitchers in the Southwest HS League for his performance this season. He capped off a sensational 5-1 season by taking home the coveted Outstanding Pitcher Award today.
Making 9 starts this year, he tossed 60.1 innings, struck out 62, walked 22 and registered a 3.13 ERA.
The SION Baseball Writers Association will present Árias his trophy at the annual gathering this weekend. | |
