The United League R Outstanding Hitter Award has been chosen for 2054 and the trophy was presented to the talented and hot-hitting Marcos Díaz.
In his fine season, he compiled a .401 batting average with 79 hits, 7 doubles, 2 triples and 12 home runs, along with 41 RBIs and 58 runs scored.
For being named the ULR's top batter, Díaz will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

 | Wednesday, November 4th, 2054: Takeshi Yoshikawa Captures FLR Outstanding Hitter Award
Takeshi Yoshikawa put together a tremendous season at the plate for Bull Head City, capturing one of baseball's most coveted offensive trophies, the Federal League R Outstanding Hitter Award.
He posted a .365 batting average and .458 on-base percentage this year while reeling off 81 hits, 9 doubles, no triples, 19 home runs and 54 RBIs.
For being named the FLR's top hitter, Yoshikawa will be honored at the SION Baseball Writers awards banquet this weekend.

What does it take to win the Outstanding Pitcher Award?
Just ask Alejandro Castro of the Veracruz Pirates -- the latest United League R Outstanding Pitcher Award winner.
"My dad always told me dream big and dream always," he said. "It's not like I shoot for the Outstanding Pitcher Award," he said. "I have big aspirations of what I want to do in this game and what I want to achieve in a long career. This was one of my goals."
The Pirates pitching ace certainly dreamed big this year, winning 9 games and losing only 4. In 15 starts Castro registered a 2.62 ERA and limited other clubs to a .243 batting average. He fanned 72 in 99.2 innings and issued 19 walks.
This weekend Castro will be honored by the SION Baseball Writers Association at its annual awards dinner.
