It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Federal League AAA, but last week Dan Clayton reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week.
Clayton rocked opposing pitching for a .591 average (13-22), 1 home run and 7 RBIs to come away with the award.
Presently Clayton is batting .324 and has collected 5 home runs, 36 RBIs, .408 OBP and scored 53 runs.

"He's mixing his pitches real well and keeping his composure on the mound," the New Orleans manager said. "When Woods does that, good things happen."
These comments came after Russell Woods and the New Orleans Voodoo shut out the Muncie Knights 5-0.
He had 5 strikeouts, 3 walks and allowed 1 hit.
In the current season in 24 starts, Russell Woods has a record of 5-14 with 89 strikeouts in 151 innings and a 4.95 ERA.

This week Federal League AAA pitching was a feast fit for a king and Dan Clayton really made the most of it -- ripping them royally. The talented Muncie hitting machine produced a sizzling .458 batting average, 1 home run, 11 hits in 24 at-bats, 4 RBIs and 6 runs.
That kind of hitting earned him the FLAAA Player of the Week honors.
So far in 2054 Clayton is hitting .304 with 4 home runs, 28 RBIs and 43 runs scored. He has 79 hits and played in 79 games.
