All game long New Orleans's Tadasu Yamasaki was rattling the walls at New Orleans Ballpark and banging out base hits against the Springfield Swingers. When the dust finally settled on the diamond, he had a 5-hit day and the Voodoo had a 4-1 victory.
Speaking with reporters after his standout performance, the 25-year-old first baseman said, "Get 5 hits, win a ballgame, it's nice. I could get used to this."
T. Yamasaki singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, tripled in the 7th and hit a two-run single in the 8th.
Thus far in 2054 Yamasaki is batting .261 with 4 home runs, 15 RBIs and 22 runs scored.

 | Friday, June 26th, 2054: Flagstaff Blanked by Springfield
Wang Jiao of the Springfield Swingers was right on target when he blanked the Flagstaff Scorpions 5-0, yielded 4 hits and totaled no walks and 3 strikeouts.
Speaking to SION reporters after the game, Jiao said, "I had everything working today and I got some help from my defense, too. They saved my butt a few times."
In 6 starts this year Jiao has crafted a 4-2 record and a 1.81 ERA.

 | Thursday, May 14th, 2054: Yamashita Slaps 5 Hits
Outlaws first baseman,Yoritomo Yamashita, had his way with Springfield pitching today at Outlaws Ballpark and mauled them for 5 hits in 5 at-bats, but it was all in vain. The Swingers ruined his great day by outscoring the Outlaws 9-8.
He told reporters after the game, "I had a great day, but you got to give Springfield credit, they did what they had to do to win the game. They weren't very impressed with my 5 hits after all is said and done. They did what they had to do -- win the game."
The Swingers skipper added, "Oh, I think we noticed what Yamashita did today. He had quite a game. I can tell you this, we will pitch him a little differently the next time we face him."
Y. Yamashita doubled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI single in the 4th, singled in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off J. Unknown in the 8th.
Yamashita is batting at a .387 pace in 2054, picking up 60 hits in 155 at-bats with 1 home run, 20 RBIs and 20 runs scored.
