| Breaking News |  | Sunday, September 27th, 2054: Smith's Great Year Nets Outstanding Pitcher Award
Ernest Smith is the latest Federal League AAA Outstanding Pitcher Award winner. The Buffalo starter really shined on the hill time and again and finished up 2054 with a sparkling 16-6 record.
In 30 starts, he fanned 135, walked 55 in 204.2 innings and posted a 3.08 ERA. Smith held opposing hitters to a .230 batting average, when he was on the mound.
All of the award-winning players will be honored this weekend at the SBWA annual awards dinner.

 | Thursday, September 3rd, 2054: Alfonso Gutiérrez Will Miss 2 Weeks
Medical officials from the Buffalo Bandits reported that the club's 26-year-old second baseman, Alfonso Gutiérrez, suffered a bruised wrist in yesterday's matchup against the Rapid City Gold Miners while being hit by a pitch. Gutiérrez is expected to miss 2 weeks of action.
Currently Gutiérrez is batting .313 with 3 home runs and 20 RBIs.

 | Wednesday, September 2nd, 2054: Buffalo Blanked by Gold Miners
Ernesto Ruíz allowed 4 hits while giving up 1 walk and collecting 4 strikeouts as Rapid City blanked Buffalo 3-0.
In the postgame interview Ruíz said, "I'm trying to keep the ball down and let guys put it in play. It worked for me today."
Looking at his season stats, Ruíz has won 9 and lost 9, collecting 103 strikeouts and 29 walks in 142 innings with a 3.04 ERA.
