The Phoenix center fielder stepped into the batter's box 7 times against the Duluth and delivered 5 hits.
It was a sensational game for him. He excitedly told the press, "Unbelieveable feeling. Unbelieveable. It felt good. It felt great. What a day! 5 for 7! It does wonders for your batting average, too."

His stats include 2 RBIs and 5 runs scored. |  | Sunday, July 19th, 2054: Seals Win, Shut Out Fire Ramón Rentería effectively shut down the Fire today, blanking them 5-0 on 2 hits, ringing up 4 strikeouts and allowing 1 walk. The Seals pitcher appeared to get stronger as the game went on.
"I don't know if I was getting any stronger," Rentería said after the game, "I feel like my mechanics were getting better. I was able to make some adjustments and get a little more comfortable out there."
The Fire skipper said, "We had some opportunities, but weren't able to execute. We just didn't swing the bats very well today."
Thus far this season, Rentería has worked 207 innings with 65 strikeouts en route to a 17-6 record and a 2.30 ERA. |  | Thursday, June 18th, 2054: Alexander Goes 5-5 Against Phoenix It was a big day with the bat for Steve Alexander of the Cleveland Blues at Blues Ballpark as he bashed out hit after hit after hit to defeat Phoenix 7-5.
To the press after the ballgame he modestly said, "Guys, it's just one game in a long season. I hit it hard and found some holes today -- Bingo! -- 5 hits in 5 tries! But my hits are not the big thing in the game. The victory is the important thing. That's the story."
At the end of the game Alexander had collected 5 hits in 5 at-bats and a small mention in the record book. He was happy. He had a big day with the bat. And the Blues had won.
