| Breaking News | | Sunday, July 12th, 2054: Falcons Win, Shut Out Wichita "He's got a bunch of different arm angles and his ball was really moving," said the Wichita manager after watching Bartolo Rivera of the Spotsylvania Falcons humiliate his club 3-0 in a fine 2-hit shutout.
"If I make good pitches, I'm going to get some outs," Rivera said after he befuddled the Wranglers. "I was making good pitches the entire game."
He whiffed 9 and walked 2 in the complete game effort.
His record this season is 6-11 in 21 starts and Rivera has a 4.75 ERA. | | Friday, June 12th, 2054: Davis Slams 5 Hits for Cleveland If just anyone could go out and hit a baseball, big dollar contracts wouldn't exist. But they can't, so the good hitters get the big bucks. Mike Davis showed how it's done as he went 5 for 6 against the Wichita Wranglers and helped the Cleveland Blues beat them 9-6.
The manager for the Wranglers told the SION sportswriters, "We made some bad pitches and he took advantage of it. That's the game of baseball. Don't make mistakes and you win a lot more ballgames."
If Davis keeps hitting like this, he could be headed for a big pay raise.
M. Davis struck out in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, hit a two-run double in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, doubled in the 8th and singled in the 9th.
This season in 59 games Davis is batting .278 with 2 home runs, 19 RBIs and has scored 29 times. | | Monday, June 8th, 2054: Star of the Week Honored in ULAA A hot-hitting week got Edward Lee the United League AA Player of the Week trophy. He really wore out his welcome with league pitchers.
The Wichita catcher slammed them for a .529 average, 9 hits in 17 at-bats, 2 home runs, 7 RBIs and scored 5 runs.
In the postgame press conference, Lee shared his hitting philosophy with the SION scribes: "Just look for the seams and hit between them...nothin' more than that."
This season Lee is swinging the bat at a .278 rate with 57 hits in 205 at-bats. To date he has hit 4 home runs, scored 26 runs and driven in 24. | | | Pitching Staff | | Role | Throws | Pitcher | W | L | SV | ERA | | | | Team Information | | Record overall | 1-6, .143 PCT | | Position in Division | 4th, 6.0 GB | | Record at home | 0-1, .000 PCT | | Record on the road | 1-5, .167 PCT | | Record in X-inning games | 0-1, .000 PCT | | Record in one-run games | 1-0, 1.000 PCT | | Record versus LHP | 1-1, .500 PCT | | Record versus RHP | 0-5, .000 PCT | | Record last 10 games | 1-6, .143 PCT | | Record in April | 1-6, .143 PCT |
