It doesn't happen every day, and when it does, it's exciting. Today Ricardo Pérez of the Stillwater Seals had a sensational 6-7 game against Des Moines at Stillwater Stadium. He rifled base hits all over the ballpark in his team's 23-11 shellacking of the Diesel.
In the postgame press conference he joked, "Heck, that's a week's worth of hitting for me and I did it all in one day. I guess I can take the rest of the week off...Right, skipper?"
R. Pérez flied out in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 6th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.

It was a good day for the Clippers at Clippers Ballpark as they clipped the Des Moines Diesel 9-5. It was tremendous day for Artie Rice, who went on quite a hitting spree with a 5 for 5 barrage.
The Duluth right fielder told reporters after his big 5-hit performance, "I don't have any buzz words. I'm 'not dialed in' or 'in a zone,' as they say. As far as the hitting goes, I try to keep it simple. I try not to look into it too much. Basically the pitcher throws the ball, I try to pick up the spin, then in a split-second decide to try to hit it. Today I picked up the spin very well."
A. Rice singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, doubled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off R. Gonzáles in the 8th.
