| Breaking News |  | Friday, September 18th, 2054: Jouda Selected FLA's Best Batter
Today the Federal League A announced the 2054 Outstanding Hitter Award. This year's honoree is Midland's outstanding right fielder Akihiko Jouda. When he stepped into the batter's box this season, it usually was bad news for pitchers.
Jouda hammered them long and hard, finishing up the year with a .373 batting average, 125 hits, 5 home runs, 46 RBIs, .447 OBP and scored 53 times.
This weekend the SBWA will host its annual awards dinner and all of the major winners will be there to receive their trophies for their outstanding achievements this past season.

 | Friday, August 21st, 2054: Jewelers Get Shutout Win Over Midland
Glendale's Emílio Quintana brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Midland Rattlers 14-0. He racked up 8 strikeouts, surrendered 4 hits and issued 3 walks on his way to the victory.
This year Quintana has compiled a 5-2 mark with a 1.74 ERA in 9 starts.

| Monday, August 10th, 2054: Jouda Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
Akihiko Jouda put on a hitting clinic today as the Rattlers dumped the Dragons 12-7 at Midland Fields. The Midland right fielder sprayed hits all over the ballpark by lashing Kitchener pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats in the game.
He told SION reporters after the game, that he just hit it where they pitched it. "Too often I try to pull the ball too much. Today I just went with the pitch."
A. Jouda grounded out in the 2nd, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, doubled in the 8th and hit a three-run home run off R. Gaston in the 9th.
This year Jouda has hit 5 home runs and posted a .373 batting average.
