Who needs batting practice? César Romano of Carson City apparently doesn't as he battered Frisco with a 5-hit outburst in today's game to lead his club to a 13-5 win.
He told the press after the game, "And I didn't even take BP today. I think I have been taking too many swings before game and decided to take a day off. Wow, this was really something... a 5 for 5 day... will my name be in the record books now?"
C. Romano singled in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th and singled in the 7th.
Romano is batting at a .276 pace in 2054, picking up 117 hits in 424 at-bats with 5 home runs, 46 RBIs and 48 runs scored.

 | Saturday, July 18th, 2054: Roosters Blank Card Sharks
Orlando Valéncia of the Charleston Roosters was right on target when he blanked the Carson City Card Sharks 9-0, yielded 3 hits and totaled 2 walks and 8 strikeouts.
Speaking to SION reporters after the game, Valéncia said, "I had everything working today and I got some help from my defense, too. They saved my butt a few times."
In 2054 Valéncia has compiled a 10-3 mark with a 3.17 ERA.
