| Breaking News | | Friday, September 4th, 2054: Glendale Wins Round 3! The Jewelers earned their 1st Round 3 title and now get to spend all winter basking in glory, while the beaten Midnight Riders will have many sleepless nights wondering what went wrong.
Glendale is the TTBL Single A Champions for 2054. They did it with a 6-2 triumph to capture the series 4-3.
"Both clubs are talented. We just made fewer mistakes than they did," the winning manager said to the press corps at the postgame press conference. "We made the crucial plays and got the timely hits."
The Lexington skipper agreed with that assessment and added, "We were a little weak on fundamentals at crucial times. I have a sneaky suspicion we will be working on fundamentals a lot next spring."
On the way to the Round 3 championship, the Jewelers ended up in first place in the Federal League A Division 2 and compiled a 77-43 record during the regular season. | | Thursday, September 3rd, 2054: Moreno Struts Stuff in Lexington Win "I had everything working for me out there. I used every one of my pitches, hit both sides of the plate really well and felt like I could do whatever I wanted."
With stuff like that, it was easy for Gilberto Moreno of the Jewelers to handcuff the Midnight Riders 1-0 and come away with a complete game 5-hit shutout. He recorded 3 strikeouts and 3 walks in an impressive performance.
This year Moreno has worked 190.1 innings with 87 strikeouts en route to a 9-10 record and 3.50 ERA. | | Friday, August 21st, 2054: Jewelers Get Shutout Win Over Midland Glendale's Emílio Quintana brought his "A game" to the park, shutting down and shutting out the Midland Rattlers 14-0. He racked up 8 strikeouts, surrendered 4 hits and issued 3 walks on his way to the victory.
