The Charleston Roosters struggled at the plate today against Roadrunners hurler Mike Richards, who shackled them on 2 hits while hurling a complete game 2-0 shutout.
"What can you say? We didn't hit well," said the Roosters skipper in his postgame comments.
"Hopefully we shake this off and bounce back tomorrow."
Richards finished the game with 6 strikeouts and 3 walks in an excellent mound performance.
"He pitched real well," his manager said. "Mike made pitches when he had to. He hit his spots and did a great job of mixing in his changeup and using his fastball effectively."

Gary hurler Steve Gentry put on quite a show today as he blitzed the Mojave Roadrunners with a 8-0 shutout. He baffled them with fastballs and changeups, allowing 3 hits with 2 strikeouts and no walks to pick up the win.
The opposing manager told reporters after the game, "I think every time we were looking for a fastball, he threw a changeup and every time we were looking for a changeup, he threw a fastball."
