At bat the Miners floundered, fizzled and failed to score.
"His fastball moves and he mixes in the slider," the Morgantown manager said. "He kept us off-balance."
The Brewster pitcher hurled a 5-hit shutout in an exceptional effort. He gave up 3 walks and had 5 strikeouts.
"I felt good," Barrón said. "That's probably the best fastball I've had all season. I was able to locate it pretty well. They were super-aggressive, which helped me."

He overpowered some batters with his fastball and buckled knees with his sharp breaking pitches.
"We had our shot at him a couple of different times," the Miners manager said, "but we weren't able to get to him."
