| Breaking News |  | Monday, June 1st, 2054: Florida Manatees Bereda to Baton Rouge for
The rumor has been going on for a while now, but today it was made official. The Florida Manatees sent 21-year old minor league starting pitcher Rubén Bereda and a 4th round draft pick to the Baton Rouge Ragin Cajuns for a 2nd round draft pick.
Officials from both teams seem to be pleased with the deal.

May was a good month for Lawrence Burke. The Baton Rouge left fielder had his way with opposing pitchers all month while posting a .387 batting average and was selected as the Federal League Batter of the Month.
Last month Burke put up some solid numbers: 9 home runs, 25 RBIs, 25 runs scored and a .459 on-base percentage.
Thus far in 2054 Burke is batting .306 with 13 home runs, 42 RBIs and 38 runs scored. |
 | Sunday, May 31st, 2054: Portland's Salgado Goes Ballistic with 6 Hits
Javier Salgado was unstoppable, but his club, the Alpines, was not unbeatable. Despite his hitting heroics they lost to the Baton Rouge Ragin Cajuns 6-4. He battered them for 6 hits in 9 at-bats. His only consolation will be a rise in his batting average and a brief mention in the record book.
Salgado just shook his head after the game, saying to the SION reporters, "It's the team with the most runs that wins...not the most hits."
J. Salgado singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th, singled in the 9th, singled in the 11th, grounded out in the 14th, flied out in the 16th and flied out in the 19th.
In 2054 Salgado has hit at a .400 clip with 74 hits, no home runs, 16 RBIs and has scored 16 times. |
