"I'm frustrated right now," said Chicago second baseman Rafael Hernández. "I can't help this team by sitting on the bench or in the training room." Unfortunately for the Phoenix, that's where he will be spending the next 2 weeks. Hernández suffered blurred vision in today's game against Baltimore while colliding with a player at a base. "Believe me," he said, "I won't be out a day longer than I have to be."

Bob Berry went on a week-long tirade against the United League pitchers and was acclaimed the Player of the Week.
The Chicago left fielder was hot as a firecracker, exploding with a .579 average, 2 home runs and 7 RBIs. For the week Berry bashed out 11 hits in 19 at-bats and scored 5 runs.
